Patch 4 for RetroMania Wrestling

All, we are in the final testing of Patch 4. For those Steam players who want to test out the beta (you must already own the game and the DLC) the password is "patch4beta2025."

Assuming we get our testing done the rest of today and through the night (we have some people in different time zones who will be testing tonight), we hope to submit for certification tomorrow. Based on previous experience, it will take 3-6 business days to get approval and get it in your hands.

We're already working on Patch 5 as we already have a list of items we want/need to address.

Again, thanks to anyone who has submitted a bug. The initial response to the DLC has been amazing, and everyone has really helped to make the game even better.

Patch 4 Release Notes (Preview):

General Bug Fixes

Crowd sound control does not apply to the lose screen
Fix win in every arena achievement so it only counts the original ones before the DLC
Character Select Screen transition bug
Other menu issue with some transitions

Gameplay Updates / Fixes

Levitating bug on some wrestlers when a specific sequence happens
AI Tag partner will come into the ring to break up a pin but does not always do something.
AI wrestler follows opponent onto the apron when opponent tags. He re-enters the ring straight away

Animation Adjustments / Fixes

Smash's arm lock is glitchy (strong + right finisher)
Magnum's running cross body pin has an animation issue
Spinning Toehold is also missing a sprite and general animation issue with this move
Sunset flip sprite issue.
Add impact to Mr. Hughes fist drop. Right now the opponent on the ground does not move.
Wrestlers are doing the wobble walk in certain arenas when exiting from a Rumble - Ballroom - Fandom
Macho Man's "knee to back" is glitchy when performed near the ropes (left side of ring) (Was not fixed completely in last patch)
Double Clubs to Back - can tagged wrestler walk a little slower to position? he moves pretty quickly
Gorilla Press from tie up (strong+up) - victim is out of position, needs to be raised enough so RW arm stub is covered
Magnum One Hand Pin 4th sprite needed wrist band re positioned

Tournament Mode

FATAL ERROR in promoter mode when final match is a dq - singles and tag
Kings Cup when winning a match it gets counted as a loss in some situations
Tag Team Classic tournament bug - Wrong team showed winning the match
Tournament Singles - characters don't grey out if both wrestlers are disqualified on this part of the bracket
Tournament Bug: Wrestlers get swapped in brackets in 2nd rounds
In Tournament mode - in CPU vs CPU matches, if you pause the game at the start of the match, un-pause and then skip the match - the match will end without the Wrestler's ending theme.
Fatal Error in Promoter mode when there is a Double Count Out

House Show Mode

Chose Ax in rumble and when it started not in the ring yet and when pressed a button it exited the match and went to the loss screen

Retro Rumble

Fatal error - Rumble mode when setting up an all AI match and not selecting all 8 participants

New Feature

Add option to Disable camera controls on right stick and LT and RT. NOW WORKS
Add option to Disable screen shake

"In our haste to get the latest update out to the Switch, we introduced a bug late in the process. Unfortunately, it got through our QA team. So far this only affects the Retro Rumble, which will crash. We are aware of the issue and will be working this weekend to get a Patch submitted for review ASAP."

The latest update on the RetroMania Wrestling DLC for the Switch:

“We passed Cert and have one more approval left, and we will be good to go. The base update for Switch (NOT the DLC) is going live tomorrow morning.

This update provides the following changes to the base game:

New Tag Team mechanics
Several new tag team moves
New Drop down and leap frog system
New Dog Pile pins
New Walk speed option to slow down the game play
New Run Collision option
New animations for a bunch of existing moves
New camera modes (which allow close up action)
New damaged Hud portraits
Ability to hide the HUD
Various Bug fixes

The DLC should be available for purchase on the Switch within a couple of days at most.
Please enjoy the new features and bug fixes of the update and get ready for the DLC. Again, sorry for the delay and thanks everyone for your continued support and patience.

The new RetroMania Wrestling DLC is now live on Xbox, PlayStation, and Steam! For our Nintendo Switch players, the DLC is experiencing a slight delay and will be available shortly. As soon as the date for that is announced, we'll let everyone know!

Here are the non-DLC updates:

New Tag Team mechanics
Several new tag team moves
New Drop down and leap frog system
New Dog Pile pins
New Walk speed option o slow down the game play
New Run Collision option
New animations for a bunch of existing moves
New camera modes (which allow close up action)

Play the all-new RetroMania Wrestling DLC live when Retrosoft Studios comes to Retro World Expo, the premiere retro gaming convention in the northeast! The Retrosoft Studios team will be there all weekend, from September 12 through September 14. The DLC will release on September 13, so those in attendance on Retro World Expo's opening day will be the first to play the new RetroMania Wrestling DLC!

Who will the big reveal be? Not only will the next DLC for RetroMania Wrestling include Magnum T.A., Demolition, and the Rock 'n' Roll Express – but there's a mystery sixth wrestler! You'll be able to play as all six of these legends when Retrosoft Studios comes to Retro World.
Meet Demolition! Ax and Smash will be joining us all weekend at the Retrosoft Studios booth to sign autographs, take photos, and talk some pro wrestling with the fans. Meet the legendary World Tag Team Champions at Retro World Expo, two of the biggest legends in wrestling history!
Enter the first live RetroMania Wrestling Tournament. There will be fun and prizes when we host the first live tournament for RetroMania Wrestling. Prizes will be given out, and stop by the booth for additional swag like exclusive posters and game cases.

Mr. Hughes and James Storm have joined the RetroMania Wrestling! The latest update for RetroMania Wrestling not only includes two new wrestlers, but you can now finish Johnny Retro's story, battle in the new NWA arena, and more.

The new update for RetroMania Wrestling is now live! This new RetroMania Wrestling DLC from Retrosoft Studios is available now on Nintendo Switch, Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox, and includes:

New Wrestlers: James Storm & Mr. Hughes
New Arena: The "NWA Arena"
New ring gear for every wrestler on the roster
Finish the Story with new chapters in Story Mode
Nikita Koloff's "Russian Sickle" finisher has been reanimated
WARHORSE's grapple rope bounce now has a Mega Lariat
Jeff Cobb's "Wrist Clutch Fisherman Buster" has been reanimated
Brian Myers' "Upside Down Frown" has been reanimated
Certain wrestlers can now show their power with one-handed pins under the right conditions

In this update, we have a new playable wrestler in Chris Bey, three new arenas, new gameplay options, and several tweaks to improve the overall experience when playing RetroMania Wrestling.

Currently, the new update is only available on Steam. It will be arriving on the other consoles soon, as it's currently in the approval process. It won't be much longer!

Here's a look at everything included in this update to RetroMania Wrestling. The update is now live on Steam, and will be available soon for the other platforms.

New Wrestler: Chris Bey makes his RetroMania Wrestling debut!
Three new arenas: The Blue World Order arena, the Coralluzzo Collection Agency and Retropalooza.
New entrance animations for Johnny Retro, Matt Cardona and Big Stevie Cool.
Old school nameplates are now included for all wrestler entrances.
New weapon: Head back behind the ring to find a new kendo stick! Hit your opponent with this after you knock him out with a chair.
Several moves can now be done off the front apron to the floor.
Added to the wrestler select screen is now a 'random' option.
Several move animations have been cleaned up, included WARHORSE's Double Foot Stomp and the Road Warriors' Doomsday Device.
Submission wins are now accompanied by a bone-crunching sound effect.
You can now throw your opponent back into the ring.
There are several new moves that you can use to throw your opponent either out of the ring or into the steel cage, including the Power German Suplex, the two-handed Choke Toss, and the Belly to Belly Suplex.
You can now use dives from the top rope to break up pins.
There are several new sound effects, including the sound of the ring bell if you hit your opponent below the belt!
During tag team matches, your partner on the apron will now react to the action that's happening in the ring.
Wrestler fatigue is now in the game, and it will certainly remind you of playing in the arcades many years ago!
Hot tags are now included in tag team matches.
In tag team matches, the illegal man must now have more than 10% health to make the save.
The damage from suicide dives has increased, not you'll now take some damage if you miss.
The winner's entrance music now plays when the match ends.
The New Champion cutscene from the Ten Pounds of Gold mode now plays if the Worlds Heavyweight Championship changes hands during in an Exhibition Match.
The Championship Indicator has been added to the wrestler select screen, so you'll always know who currently holds the Ten Pounds of Gold.
There are several new video options for RetroMania Wrestling, including scanlines.
A new match option has been added to Exhibition bouts, as you can set singles matches or tag team matches to be 2 out of 3 Falls Matches.
The Xbox Achievement issue has been fixed. This update, while only available now for Steam, will be available on the other platforms very soon.
You can now punch your opponent into a dazed state by holding the 'light' button from the headlock position.
Turnbuckle move distance and hit boxes have been adjusted.
The button to release a pin has now been changed to the Tag button.
Many sprite laying and move timing issues have been corrected.
Match losers will now randomly display one of our losing poses.
Submission moves will no longer automatically break when performed outside of the ring.
Lucky Wins can now be toggled within the gameplay options.
Ground AI has been completely reworked – no more spam!
There have been several sound effect updates to moves.
More rope movement occurs when appropriate.
All known bugs within RetroMania Wrestling have been fixed.

RetroMania Wrestling is coming to the Epic Game Store

Mike Hermann of Retrosoft Studios appeared on SiriusXM's Busted Open with Dave LaGreca and Tommy Dreamer, and shared the news that RetroMania Wrestling will be making its way to the Epic Games Store.

"We just signed a contract with Epic Games, so we're working on getting the game out on their storefront," Hermann told Dave LaGreca and Tommy Dreamer. We will share updates as soon as we're able to, but our entire team is excited to bring some wrestling action the Epic Games Store!

"This is my baby, right? This is my dream game, and I really want it as perfect as I can get it, so we went back and we've been retooling stuff, so we have a really big update coming out. This week, Mike Hermann of Retrosoft Studios discusses what's new in the world of RetroMania Wrestling, from the development side. Our team is grinding tirelessly to get the first big update out and in your hands. On this week's episode:

Mike shows some new test footage that showcases Chris Bey's new moves actually in-game, with the test wrestlers.
We're tweaking some other moves so that they'll throw your opponent out of the ring. This will be key going forward especially for the Retro Rumble game mode.
A familiar "ding!" from the N64 era of wrestling games is coming as well.
Yes, the physical release of RetroMania Wrestling from Limited Run Games is still coming!
The next update to RetroMania Wrestling will add old school name plates. Little touches like this are to enhance the overall game experience for both old school fans and newer wrestling fans.

Where is the physical copy of RetroMania Wrestling?

On this week's episode, Mike Hermann addressed the physical edition of RetroMania Wrestling, which will be coming from Limited Run Games. Yes, it's still coming, but we do not have a concrete date to share at this time.

New test footage featuring Chris Bey's moves in-game

The Test Wrestlers are back! This week's video shows off some of Chris Bey's new moves. Chris Bey will be the first of our downloadable wrestlers to be released, followed by James Storm, Mr. Hughes, and other pro wrestling legends that are yet to be announced.

Move adjustments will for the retro rumble

We're also tweaking some other moves so that they do more ring-outs, which will bring some fun changes to the Retro Rumble game mode especially.

An N64 era throwback will bring some more nostalgia to RetroMania Wrestling

Don't hit your opponent below the belt (or do you)! The classic 'ding!' from the Nintendo 64 era of wrestling games will be making a fun comeback in RetroMania Wrestling.

Small tweaks like the old school name plates are made to enhance the overall gaming experience

We'll be including the old school name plates for the entrances of the wrestlers in RetroMania Wrestling. We cannot stress this enough -- these are just small tweaks and are not taking away from pushing out the big updates. We're working tirelessly and appreciate your patience.
